Adam Cody specializes in retail tenant representation in the Chicago/Midwest market. He has experience in assisting national retailers meet their expansion goals by developing and implementing comprehensive retail market strategies, and successfully negotiating sale and lease transactions.
In addition, he is adept at completing challenging urban and in-fill site selection, relocation of existing assets and aggressive expansion of new retail concepts.
Adam has 11 years of experience in the retail real estate industry. Prior to joining JLL he was a Retail Tenant Representation Specialist at The Staubach Company / SRS Real Estate Partners.
He has negotiated more than 110 sale and lease transactions in the Chicago metro market on behalf of many high profile clients such as JCPenney, AMC Theatres, 7-Eleven, Toys"R"Us/Babies"R"Us, Verizon Wireless, Corner Bakery, Citibank, AutoNation, Famous Dave's and Discount Tire. His efforts resulted in transaction values exceeding $225 million.
Additionally, Adam has strong experience working with national retailers in the disposition of surplus properties. He has successfully disposed of excess real estate for Target, JCPenney, Frys Electronics and Krispy Kreme Donuts.
Adam earned a bachelors degree in economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
He is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and serves as the Chicago Next Generation Program Committee Co-Chair.
Adam is also a volunteer at St. Josaphat Parish in Chicagos Lincoln Park neighborhood.
