Larry Emmons currently serves as Managing Director for JLLs Detroit offices. In this role, Larry oversees all brokerage services in the region and leads JLLs charge in the growing Michigan market.
Larry brings more than 25 years of experience working with clients in the Detroit commercial real estate market, providing services in agency leasing, capital markets and industrial real estate.
Prior to joining JLL, Larry served as Senior Vice President in the Capital Markets Group specializing in office and industrial investment properties at CBRE from 2013 to 2015.
Before that, Larry was a Senior Managing Director in the Capital Markets Group at Newmark Grubb Knight Frank. While there, Larry managed all stages of the investment sale process including: advising clients on asset portfolios, determining asset disposition strategies, marketing and placing assets, managing due diligence and transaction settlement.
Prior to joining Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, Larry was responsible for sourcing and acquisition of industrial real estate projects for First Industrial Realty Trust, serving as Regional Director and Senior Investment Officer in both Michigan and Florida. In these positions, Larry was responsible for hundreds of millions of dollars in transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, re-developments and sale/leasebacks.
Larry began his career as a sales and leasing agent in metro Detroit with real estate firms Colliers International and Grubb & Ellis.
Larry earned his J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and his B.G.S. from The University of Michigan.
He has been an active member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) since 1994 and a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) since 1996.
Larry is a licensed real estate broker for the states of Michigan and Florida, as well as a licensed attorney and counselor at law.
