Mr. Brooks is the Retail Brokerage Lead for the Hawaii market, where he oversees JLL's agency leasing and tenant representation efforts. He is responsible for the administration and management of local retail brokers and provides strategic planning and evaluation of remerchandising and redeveloping properties. Born and raised in Hawaii, Mr. Brooks has extensive local market knowledge and has developed strong relationships with retailers and the brokerage community. His on-the-ground knowledge of existing asset availabilities and familiarity with new developments and other trends in the market provide an added value to clients, ensuring no opportunity is overlooked.
Mr. Brooks also plays an instrumental role in business development and relationship management for investor and occupier clients seeking retail services in Hawaii.
His achievements include the sale of 14 shopping centers and completion of 250 leases within four years. Currently, he oversees a portfolio of more than two million square feet and over $1 billion in value.
Mr. Brooks has 29 years of real estate experience. Prior to joining JLL, Mr. Brooks worked for CBRE, Inc. as a Senior Vice President with a focus on retail leasing, shopping center sales and development brokerage. Mr. Brooks' tenant representation experience includes Safeway, Inc., T.J. Maxx, Par Petroleum, Regal Cinemas and Kaiser Permanente. He was recognized as CBRE' s Top Producer Mid-Year 2010 in the Americas. Mr. Brooks has served as the lead re-development advisor to the Queen Emma Land Company's 18-acre Waikiki portfolio which included major resort hotels, timeshares, hospital apartments and commercial retail and office venues. Prior to working for CBRE, Inc. Mr. Brooks worked for Chaney, Brooks & Co.
Mr. Brooks attended University of Southern California, University of Paris-Sorbonne and the University of Hawaii. He is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and is a licensed real estate broker in the state of Hawaii.
