Amy Zhen joined JLL as Senior Vice President in the Retail brokerage group in 2014 with a focus on landlord representation. Her current responsibilities for clients include work on behalf of Madison Capital, the Carlyle Group, American Realty Capital and Savanna to name a few. Ms. Zhen has extensive knowledge of the New York market and its submarkets and a deep understanding of the complexities of owner needs and expectations.
Ms. Zhen began her career with Newmark Grubb Knight Frank in 2010 and spent four years as a director of retail brokerage, where she specialized in agency leasing. She has represented landlord clients including, Savanna, Madison Capital, Extell, the Carlyle Group, RFR, American Realty Capital, and Stahl Real Estate in several significant transactions and securing multiple retail tenants.
During her time at Newmark, Ms. Zhen helped Savanna reposition 31 Penn Plaza located at 132 West 31st Street and secured five new leases including Blink Fitness. She was also responsible for the second largest retail deal in 2013 helping furniture retailer, Room & Board, expand their footprint in New York with a 60,000 s.f. flagship space at 249 West 17th Street. Ms. Zhen secured the first Haute Hippie location in the US, and completed leasing assignment of 20,000 s.f. of gallery space and refinanced the property on new leases, at 511-525 West 22nd Street in Chelsea with Madison Capital.
Ms. Zhen earned her bachelors of science in Mechanical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology. She is also a member of Real Estate Brokers of New York (REBNY) and International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
