As a senior leader of the firms Tenant Representation practice in New York City, Mr. Siegel manages relationships with national and global occupier clients and leads tenant representation assignments for clients in New York City and the metro area. His tenant representation expertise spans portfolio master planning, transaction strategy and execution.
Mr. Siegel is a senior member of the firm's National Law Firm Group practice and co-leads the practice in New York City. His New York transaction experience includes working with law firm occupiers such as White & Case; Skadden Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom; SNR Denton; Allen & Overy; and Condon & Forsyth. Mr. Siegel recently completed a relocation assignment for Phillips Lytle's New York office and a 60,000 square foot sublease disposition on behalf of Linklaters.
In addition to his responsibilities with our law firm clients, Mr. Siegel is responsible for coordinating and executing transaction activity in Manhattan and the Metro area for clients such as HSBC, Goldman Sachs, CA, Inc., Deutsche Bank and Avon Products. Siegel recently led the development of a New York Metro Strategy for HSBC Bank USA as well as the resulting 900,000 square foot sale and leaseback of the Bank's New York headquarters. He also recently completed a 500,000-s.f. Midtown Manhattan strategy for Deutsche Bank and led the transaction team in executing its Midtown lease renewal.
Mr. Siegel has led teams that have executed some of the largest and most complex tenant rep leasing transactions in New York City, including Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette's 700,000 sf relocation to 277 Park Avenue, Prudential Securities' 1,000,000 sf back office consolidation and 500,000 sf front-office renewal in lower Manhattan, a 350,000 sf headquarters relocation for Avon Products, JetBlue's 250,000 sf headquarters relocation to Long Island City and over 600,000 sf in three transactions for Morgan Stanley.
Mr. Siegel also worked with Bank of America as part of the New York regional team for this global client and was involved in executing the Bank's 1.1 million sf occupancy agreement, joint venture development transaction and related municipal incentives agreement for its New York headquarters at One Bryant Park.
Mr. Siegel has coordinated JLL's team in completing more than $750 million of corporate sale and sale-and-leaseback transactions, including the recent $200 million Headquarters sale-and-leaseback for CA, Inc. on Long Island.
Since joining the firm in New York in 1987, Mr. Siegel has also been actively involved in negotiating public incentive packages for the firm's clients. He and his team have negotiated fourteen public incentive agreements over the last several years in New York City and the metro area.
In the public/private arena, Mr. Siegel has advised the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey on all aspects of the World Trade Center redevelopment, including representing the Port Authority in occupancy negotiations for its return to the World Trade Center and negotiations with the current holder of the land lease on the property.
Prior to joining JLL, Mr. Siegel worked in the real estate finance group at Cowen & Company, at Solow Building Company and at Price Waterhouse.
Mr. Siegel graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and received his M.B.A. in Real Estate and Finance from Columbia Business School. He holds a New York State Real Estate Brokers license and practiced as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York. Mr. Siegel is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York.
