Robert Gibson joined JLL in 2014 as vice chairman and leader of New York retail brokerage. Specifically, Mr. Gibson is leading the expansion of the firm's retail platform in Manhattan and is responsible for the growth of retail tenant and agency leasing in the tri-state region.
Prior to joining JLL, Mr. Gibson was a vice chairman with Cushman & Wakefield in New York, where he was named as the firm's worldwide Top Overall Producer in 2012, a distinction that recognizes performance across all service lines. Additionally, he was awarded the "Top 100 brokers" award in 2008, 2009, 2012, and 2013. In 2016, Mr. Gibson has been awarded JLL's 2016 MVP, as well as JLL's 2016 Retail Deal of the Year.
With more than 28 years of retail leasing experience in New York and nationally, Mr. Gibson maintains long-standing relationships with global luxury brands, urban millennial brands and other prominent national retailers. Mr. Gibson is well-versed in negotiating transactions for domestic malls to national and international high-street locations.
Education and Affiliations
Mr. Gibson earned a bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Albany. He is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) and serves on its Stores Committee. He is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
